A third arm would be good...

April 16, 2003

On the drive home from work today, I was thinking I should start taking my camera with me when I walk Lily. Yesterday evening I missed a beautiful shot. It was at sunset, and it literally looked like the sky was on fire. It was bright orange up to a point, and then it was dark blue gray. The line that divided the two was very jagged like the outline of a flame.

But I didn't have my camera, and it was gone by the time we got home from the walk.

Then I was thinking how very hard it would be to take pictures on a walk with Lily anyway. Unless I had someplace to park her on her leash, I would only be able to use one hand to shoot. That rarely works out. tongue

So then I was thinking how cool it would be if humans had another arm. That would be so awesome. I could type and eat a hamburger at the same time! Wait... I could type and use the mouse at the same time!!!

But then I was thinking about how much more complex video game controllers would be. I haven't played video games too much since they quit making the ones with a one joystick/one button controller (Atari!!!). Now they're little panels with many buttons. My hands just don't work that way. But can you imagine what the controllers would be like if we had three hands to push buttons and roll knobs and guide joysticks!? nerd

Proofreading helps, but...

April 10, 2003

It doesn't matter how many times I read through a blog post before I post it... there's always at least one typo or grammatical error that I don't catch until I publish it for the world to see.

Maybe the publishing engine adds it. Yeah... that's what it is...

A dog's sense of smell

February 9, 2003

I took my dog out for a walk this evening. I saw stars. I haven't seen stars in days. I always feel better when I can see the stars. Here's what's nagging me.... If a dog's sense of smell is like 300,000 times better than a human's sense of smell, how come a dog can put its nose right up to poop and sniff it. Just a little wiff makes me want to blow chunks.
